Sting's Ten Summoner's Tales: A Review

Sting's real name is Gordon Sumner and thus 10 "Summoner's Tales" .

It's interesting how this scrappy milk man's son was able to create fame and fortune with THE POLICE and then go off and do a solo career of jazz rock music that people love and cherish to this day. To his credit he surrounded himself with monster jazz musicians throughout his solo career including Branford Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland, Dominic Miller, Vinnie Colaiuta, Omar Hakim etc etc.

I love ALL of Sting's solo album's but this one Ten Summoner's Tales is pure magic from beginning to end. And there is a story in Sting's autobiography where he bought a farm in British countryside that had a lake...  in the course of dredging the lake they found the remains of woman who had been murdered after her hands were tied behind her back in the 1500s.  Sting decided to have a proper funeral for this woman and he hired Irish musicians and honored her life posthumously.  WOW.
